Festive Make Up: Christmas Edition 2017

Merry Christmas Eve!

I’m finding it hard to believe that Christmas is practically upon us! My mind finds it terribly confusing. Where has the time gone?

So, since it’s the festive season, I thought I’d share with you, some fun make up ideas, Christmas edition. I hope this is as thrilling for you as it is for me!

Let’s begin, shall we?

I had my foundation done already, but if you’d like to see my every day make up routine, feel free to check out my last post! So, I basically started with the lightest shade in my eyeshadow palette (I always find it to be the best base). I cover my eye lid completely. The palette I am using is by PS.. Nude Eyes Palette (Penney’s/Primark).

I then added a slightly darker shade, with subtle pink hues, into my crease, just to create a nice shadow effect.

I then blend in darker tones into my crease, and use my trusty blending brush, to make sure there are no harsh lines. Is it just me, or is blending kind of therapeutic?

And because I adore living boldly, and since it’s Christmas, I felt the need to add some gold sparkle, from my trusty PS..Highlighter palette from Primark/Penney’s. I love the glow it creates, and adds a lovely shimmer.

A little technique I picked up from a Jenna Marbles drunk make up tutorial video, is to use both of my pinkies to blend everything out. It’s such a handy technique, I find it so useful.

I then grab some brown kohl eyeliner from Catrice, and smudge it on the edges of my eyes, and across my bottom lashes. I also use a Rimmel London Nude eye pencil, and apply this to my waterline, in order for my eyes to appear slightly bigger. It’s a handy little trick.

For mascara, I love using a mixture of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational, and Flormar mascara. I find they’re a great combination, and give me so much volume.

Moving onto bottom lashes, I always use my go to, Seventeen Mascara. It’s not clumpy at all, and separates the lashes, for a more natural look.

For highlight, as I mentioned before, I used the PS…Highlighter Palette from Primark/Penney’s. I brush this onto my cheekbones, and the tip of my nose, just for a natural glow. Who doesn’t love a bit of shimmer, especially at Christmas?

Next, some festive bright red lippie! I’ve recently decluttered my humongous lipstick collection, and found this little gem by Bourjois. I love a red lip, and love it paired with this eye look. It all comes together nicely. It’s such a gorgeous pop of colour. And to make sure everything is sharp, I then go in with some red lipliner from Essence, just to make sure everything is intact.

And since I am obsessed with some shimmer, I figured I’d add a little Catrice shimmer stick to the corner of my eyes, and underneath my brow, just to give some definition.

Here are some little close ups of the finished look! Simple, yet quite classy, if I do say so myself.

And that is pretty much it! I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial! Most importantly, do whatever make up you enjoy, wear no make up, wear plenty, do what makes you happy and makes you feel confidient! And a little FYI, I rarely contour my face, or fill in my brows. I just love to keep it simple, but with a little bit of edge (me in a nutshell).

Here are the affordable products I used, if you want to check them out!

I hope you have an absolutely marvellous Christmas, and a fantastic New Year! May 2018 bring you an abundance of happiness.

I hope you enjoyed this little festivity infused make up tutorial, because I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.

So, I won’t be posting next week, as you probably already guessed, because everyone needs some time off. I’ll see you in 2018!

Be good!

Much love,

-Alice, xo

P.S. Sorry for not posting at all this week, I had a minor setback, because I burned my hand, quite badly. But I’m recovering. Chocolate helps.
