As most of you are aware, I have an avid love of quotes, that continuously uplift me. Others may consider them to be simply just words. But to me, there’s a meaning and message hidden within.
I’d like to share with you how quotes have positively impacted my life. As you can tell from the attached images, I have decorated a selection of shelves with quotes, attached to bright fairy lightsΒ (my room is infested with fairy lights. Help, I have a problem. Damn you Primark for your reasonable prices…)Β I promise you, they are the most uplifting, and encouraging thing to see on a particularly low day. Sometimes, you forget entirely, the power of words. Your room is your safe haven, so why not decorate it with something you hold dear? It doesn’t necessarily have to be quotes, but anything that relieves you for a moment, anything that sparks motivation, and brightens your day, relaxesΒ you.Β What have you got to lose?
“Sometimes, you forget entirely, the power of words…”
Everyone that knows me, is well aware of the presence quotes hasΒ in my day to day life. I remember my Nana’s words everyday ‘Never Change Who You Are..’ This quote, wasΒ uttered by someone I love dearly. And when you can attach a personal aspect onto a quote, you’ll never forget it.
“Never Change Who You Are..”
On this Thoughtful Sunday, I’d like to discuss how referring to quotes or anything remotely positive during a particularly anxious or depressive moment, can be truly helpful. Yes, it won’t work all the time, but if you open yourself up to the power a quote possesses, it might actually click. Yes, I also agree that quotes are not always reliable, and won’t ever fix your mood, but trust me, the little bit of encouragement, goes a long way.Β It keeps you going.
Perhaps, I’m the only one that looks to quotes in moment’s like these. Perhaps I’m just crazy. Oh well. But, all the good ones are, right?
