Why I let my Creativity take over: Why you should, too!

Happy Sunday!

So, let me get into this straight away. Lately, I’ve realized the importance of allowing my creativity to flow into my work. If I have an idea, I run with it. Before, perhaps months ago, I would hesitate. Any slight hint of hesitation, can interfere with your process. If any doubt arises whilst glancing through the viewfinder, put the camera down. With any form of art, you cannot afford to question. In order to get the result you desire, you must allow your creativity to take full control, you must hand over the reigns. With creativity, comes allowance. And with allowance, comes freedom, and with freedom, comes Art.

It’s pivotal to incorporate your unique ideas. Trust in your concepts, and all will fall into place. With me, I enjoy the use of peculiar angles, or enhancing the features of the human face, anything, or executing enticing close ups, or including a variety of thought provoking black & white images. Or, the use of natural light. Creativity fuels you. I know some may struggle with this concept, trust me, I did too. But, you must learn to trust yourself, to trust your instincts. If you know what you want, stand up for it. Take control, be creative, be bold, be daring. I still have a lot of this to accomplish, but I figured I might as well inspire others whilst inspiring myself.

With photography, comes great responsibility. It is your duty to create the depth of picture. For without you, there is no art form. I have loved incorporating my creative juices into my work. I did it just recently, with a spontaneous mini-photo shoot (as pictured above.)

Perhaps this post has a stench of complete bull crap, but I simply want to state my case, and prove my point. This is a platform, a pedestal for me to step onto, and shout from the roof tops, my beliefs, curiosities, and challenges. With Photography, you must remain true to yourself.

You must take note, that I am no expert. But I have become accustomed to the many processes and procedures  of photography. I am a freelancer, I am an amateur, call me what you will, but know this; I am here. My voice is just as important as yours or the next persons. It doesn’t matter about the camera you own, or how much money is in your pocket, or what editing software you use. As long as you’re true to your creative self, as long as you’re honest within your work, that is all that matters. Your hands are the tools in which you’ve been given, use them well. Capture the blossoming life around you. Awaken the creator within you. Be creative.

(Whilst typing this, I envisioned myself atop a stage, resembling a self-righteous Motivational Speaker. What a funny thought.)

Have a glorious, creativity fueled Sunday afternoon!
