I am astonished at how much relief I feel today. If some of you read my post yesterday, you’ll completely understand why I feel this way. Life is good, life is fleeting.
Aren’t Ducks just absolutely gorgeous? Their vibrant coloured feathers are most intriguing. I captured this cutie during my adventure in Galway City. I fell in love, as I do with every adorable animal I encounter.
So, I thought I’d do something different today. Maybe every so often I’ll dabble in poetry, and let my words speak for the image. So, feel free to read on and enjoy my own little poem. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem not mine. I’m no expert, so bear with me.
Anyway, on with the show! I shall name this poem ‘Lone’.
‘Across the pond, atop the rocks,
A duck resides, with the world to watch-
Feathers so radiant, beak so still,
Eyes that illuminate, filled with thrill-
Alone it perches, it’s chest upright,
The sun foretells disappearance, summoning arrival of night-
The Duck shall remain, joined by his pride,
Refusal to leave, the choice to reside-
Alone he stands, robust he swore,
The ugly duckling, he shall be,
So, there you have it. I’m posting a bit late, so apologies, but it took me a while to try and rhyme this poem. I realize this is not the best of poems, but I like pairing my image with the help of a poem. I’m not a poet, nor do I claim to know everything. I simply want to share my creativity. Anyway, enjoy your weekend!
