Happy St. Patrick’s day, from Ireland!
As promised, you will be seeing a lot of green! Plenty of photos were taken today, despite the rain.
A whole crowd of us were standing beneath umbrellas, hoping for it to stop. But no, Ireland being its usual self, decided against us, and let it rain for the whole parade, and for the rest of the day (it’s still raining.) Albeit, I really enjoyed myself; I felt like the rain added something more to my images.
All the smiling faces looking directly into my lens, made my day. Even in the rain, we all had a laugh. All of the children were just beaming, smiles plastered on their faces, undeterred by the stormy weather. It was my first time at a parade in years. For some reason, I hadn’t felt the need to go, just to watch the main parade in Dublin, on TV. But this year, I figured I might as well get out of the house, and join hundreds of others who were celebrating their Irishness. It was my first time photographing a parade, it most certainly won’t be the last. It was completely electrifying.
I still have such a smile on my face. I’m incredibly proud to be Irish.
No matter where you are in the world, I wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
